As an NSI approved company we are obliged to prove our competence on an on-going basis. We meet all relevant British and European Standards for technical performance, security screen all relevant staff, provide a high level of staff training and supervision to industry best practice standards, are comprehensively insured to protect customers and staff, and are inspected every six months by professional auditors from NSI, including random site visits.
NSI is the leading approvals and certification body that inspects companies providing home security, business security and fire safety services.
Choosing an NSI approved company ensures that the contractor you select works to the highest recognised industry standards as demanded by the Police, Fire & Rescue Services and the insurance industry.
NSI is a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Assessing Body for the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
This pre-qualification assessment scheme promotes higher standards of competence and compliance through the provision of relevant industry specific and tailored health and safety assessments for all professions and sectors.
SAFEcontractor is an accreditation scheme that assess the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that external contractors and service providers working on their premises operate in a safe way. There if therefore a need to assess contractor’s health & safety arrangements and increasingly this is being carried out through SAFEcontractor.
WHICH? TRUSTED TRADERS
Which? Trusted Traders is an endorsement scheme that recognises reputable traders who successfully pass the rigorous assessment process. Not just anyone can become endorsed.
The assessment process involves:
- Credit Check – A preliminary credit check to validate the financial health and stability of the business.
- References – Customer reference checks, chosen at random by a member of the Which? Trusted Traders endorsement team to ensure a breadth of consumers are consulted.
- Business Procedures – A thorough examination of business and administrative procedures.
- Interview and Assessment – Visited in person by a Which? Trusted Traders assessor and interviewed.
- Code of Conduct – Signing up to the scheme means that we must abide by the code of conduct and terms and conditions.
Due to the high demands of the assessment, 1 in 4 traders do not pass. Only those who meet the high standards are credited with Which? Trusted trader status.
An extra benefit of using Which? Trusted Traders is that there is an Ombudsman Services on hand to offer extra peace of mind. Ombudsman Services provides independent dispute resolution to all Which? Trusted Trader customers.
Checkatrade runs strict background checks on tradespeople before they can become members. Once they join, members agree to have feedback from their customers put online for all to see.
No other directory of tradespeople uses this model. The background checks and public feedback ensure that only reliable and trusted tradespeople get work through Checkatrade.
All Checkatrade members are thoroughly vetted before they are displayed on the website. Over the years their vetting requirements have been improved and adapted to keep up with government legislation and current laws as well to keep up with their own continuously raising standards. On each members’ pages you will be able to see exactly which checks have been carried out and passed.
